Can cadaver teeth be used for anything??implants?
Im in dental assisting school and for practice we have a human skull covered with a maniken head, and it had human cadaver teeth. So yeah, the teeth can be used.
Reply:Well, after you get the teeth out, which is sometimes very hard, depending upon how new the body is (the best is the very old corpses, they jsut fall right out) you grind them down and invite your friends over for dinner. During the dinner, when your friends aren't paying attention you sprinkle the ground up teeth (which should then be powdery) onto their food and watch the rest of the evening unfold. (PS the best food is most definitely spaghetti, it blends right in with the parmesan cheese)

Tooth implants?

do tooth implants hurt?

i might have to get one

Tooth implants?
No, not much more than getting a tooth pulled. I had 2 put in last year and there is less bleeding and they healed fast. You just have to wait a few months before they can set the crown in.

Mine are great. Good luck!
Reply:basically dental implantology or tooth implant is actually a procedure wherein a titanium metal is placed into the area where you lost your tooth that will serve as an abutment for the crown the they will put on. usually for you to have an implant its either periodontist, prosthodontist and or general dentist that does implants can check if your a good candidate for implant. periodontist by the way is also dentist but he or she specializes in gum surgery, bone grafting and dental implants. while prosthodontist is also a dentist that specializes in dental prosthesis like crown, bridges, dentures and implants.

the reason why i told you if you need to diagnosed and check by them is because they have to take a look at your case, like look in your xray, and check to see if they can do an implant on you, coz if not, they might have to do a bone grafting which a procedure as that they put some bonegraft material into that area and let it heal for a while then after in heals for a couple of weeks then they put in the implant, the reason why (if it need be) that you need a bonegraft is because when they put the implant the supporting structure and the gum will be much better and more stabilize. well painwise i have seen a couple of patients that they only feel a lil bit of pain but its not gonna be that bad, soreness is just normal, im pretty much sure that whoever does that on you whether if its a general dentist or a specialist, im sure that they will monitor your condition, i would suggest for you to contact your dentist and ask your concern, maybe they do implants there and if not they can refer you out to a specialist. hope this piece of info help you.. till here take care and good luck

Does anyone know where you can get dental implants at a resonal price? My teeth are the worlds worst! Had est.

The est. I had was 11,000.00!!! Who can really afford that? I am 39 years old and dont want dentures, but I try not to smile anymore and try not to laugh because my teeth are that bad!!! As a chilf I was never taken to the dentist unless I had a tooth ache that wouldnt go away!! As an adult I have been to the dentist many times to get teeth pulled, they are that bad they break off and I get them pulled. I have learned one thing early dental care is very important and my children go reguarly. My youngest is getting his braces on this month!! I have made sure I have taught my children how important your teeth are, and you must take very good care of them! Now, paying for braces for my son, I really cant afford what that dentist is asking for. Well even if I was not paying for that I couldn't afford 11,000. I almost fell over ! Any help at all I would really appriciate it ??!!

I am sorry to hear that you need so much money to get your teeth fixed. I am in the exact same boat as you.

I have decided to use care credit, www.carecredit.com. I dont' know if that is an option for you. If you have never heard of it, go to their website.

Unfortunetly, there aren't a whole lot of options when it comes to cheap dental care. You could always go to a learning school. The people who are learning do it for a fraction of the cost. Keep in mind though, they are learning, and although they are supervised, they are not yet real dentists.

Whatever you decide to do, I wish you all the best. I know all too well how much it sucks to have bad teeth. And then to know that it will cost so much to fix it, that sucks evenmore.

What the differences between bridge teeth, crown and implant teeth?
A crown is when you wear down a tooth a couple of millimeters and cover it with a prosthetic covering like porcelain, it is on on tooth.

A picture of a crown:

http://www.animated-teeth.com/teeth_whit...

A bridge is usually used when there is a tooth missing and you use the teeth adjacent tothe missing tooth to anchor on to, to replace. It's just like a crown but it involves more teeth.

A picture of a bridge:

http://www.hxdental.co.uk/index_files/de...

An implant is used instead of a bridge, so it usually involves one tooth at a time. The surgeon opens up you gums, cuts away some bone, and places like a screw in there and patches you up. You then get a crown put on that screw, but you then have to wait usually about 4 to 6 months to get your crown put on the implant so your bone has time to heal and the implant has time to adhere to the bone.

Apicture of what you will look like in the meantime after implant:

And after the crown on th implant:

Another pic of an implant:

http://www.dentistbangkokclinic.com/imag...

One positive thing about implant over bridge is that you don't wear down the teeth adjacent to the missing one. A negative thing about the implant is the price of it (a lot more expensive than bridge) and the time you have to wait to get the crown put on. As for the price, I can't really tell you, depends where you live, there isn't a set price on implants since no insurance will cover an implant, but I've seen some go for $5,000 for one tooth, and that's in Los Angeles.

Not really sure about the age limit, but my mom is 58 and going to get an implant.

It'll never be the same as a real tooth, but an implant is a better than a bridge if you can afford one. There are nothing wrong with bridges, though.

Bottom line, if you have a cracked tooth or something along those lines, you get a crown. Have a missing tooth, you get a bridge or implant.
Reply:Check out the site below
Reply:A crown is used to cover teeth that can no longer be repaired using a filling- used for cracked fillings and borken teeth.

A bridge they actually have to kill the nerve in the two teeth next to the one that is missing. Not a good thing.

Even though implants are more expensive in the long run they are bettter. You don't have to kill the nerves in the teeth next to it and it attaches to the bone so it is like having a real tooth there.
Reply:if youre making a choice.. pick implants! im 18 and i started the process last september. they numbed the heck out of me, screwed a bolt into my bone stitched it up. then i waited 3-4 months and went back to get a piece pushed back up thru my gums to screw onto the bolt which is what the tooth will be on then i went to my normal dentist who took a mold and i came back later and he put my teeth on and im in heaven now :-)

it was a very painful process but DEFINITELY worth it! and the x-rays are pretty awesome :-P

Implants are expensive, no doubt. If you can't afford them at this time, consider a removeable partial denture. These can be made oftentimes so that it is not apparent that you have "false teeth". If implants are an option (anatomically speaking, e.g., bone height is available), then you can likely also get them down the road...something to save for. Overall, if you are going to get implants, it is better to do so sooner than later to preserve bone height. Take care.

Cost of a single implant and crown: about $2800 replaces a single tooth.

Cost of a removable partial denture: about $1100 replaces all missing teeth in an arch.

Cosmetic Dental query, regarding Crowns, implants, and crooked front teeth?

I am hoping to have cosmetic dentistry soon, but typically my teeth are complicated. My two front teeth are crowns, crooked ones at that. I'm presuming that two new porcelain veneers would only provide me with two new crooked teeth, so I've looked into titanium implants. If I had two front teeth left to straighten there would surely be no problem, but how can you straighten stumps? I believe my only option to be starting from scratch, with two straight crowns on two straight implants.

Any help much appreciated.

Cosmetic Dental query, regarding Crowns, implants, and crooked front teeth?
If you have crowns on your two front teeth veneers aren't an option, your teeth are already prepped for crowns there isn't enough tooth structure for veneers.Your dentist may be able to prep them to appear straighter it depends on how crooked they are.Minimal corrections can be made relatively easily however if there is significant distortion it may be pessary to do a little more.My advise to you is don't extract your own teeth for an aesthetic issue. If at all possible its best to keep your own teeth as apposed to implants .
Reply:I think they can make the veneers fit over the crooked teeth so that they appear straight.
Reply:cowns can solve all the problems but you might need to go for a root canal treatment to remove the nerve so that the dentist can over prepare the tooth to straighten it up

My teeth are really bad (I know it's gross) I want to do something about it and have heard about implants?

I have really bad teeth and yes, I know it's disgusting (which is why I want to do something about it).

I have heard about in America they can remove all of your teeth and put in implants (not false teeth) that are permanantly in your mouth.

Can you get this done in the UK and does anyone know how much it costs? I don't mind travelling to anywhere in the UK to get it done!

Thanks

My teeth are really bad (I know it's gross) I want to do something about it and have heard about implants?
First thing frst. You better have a consultation wiht a dentist. Each dental implant done at the specialist cost around £2000. But there are other implant solutions availbe at cheaper price hence the need to see a Implantologiest or specilaist dentist to assess your case. A total implant reconstruction cost £15 000 at our practice. You can have them done abroad for much less.Check www.scanmedix.com or contact info@scanmedix.com

keep in mind thats very expensive, you talking about 300 pounds per tooth, and that's in Turkey
Reply:ABOUT A THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED,BUT YOU WILL GET RID OF YOUR TUMMY TROUBLES.GO TO THE DENTIST AND SEE, THEY WILL CHARGE A FEE FOR AN ESTIMATE,BUT AT LEAST YOU WILL KNOW.GOOD LUCK.
Reply:Yes, you can get them done in the UK. I watch "ten years younger" and I know they do that over here. You will have to go and see your dentist and then they can refer you to a specialist (cosmetic dentist). Or you could call the show and perhaps get it done for free????
Reply:Maybe just having your teeth crowned/capped would give you the results you require but it depends on the condition of your gums. I've had two done and am very pleased with the results, however it was £350 per tooth.

Go and find a good private dentist or a good NHS dentist who does private work. They will explain the options and the costs.
Reply:You should go to the dentest every 6 months so they can check up on your teeth. Also brush them 2-3 times a day with a good toothpaste like colgate or aquafresh. Get a mouthwash that can kill all of the rest of the plaque after your brush. If you want you can get special teeth polish called pearl drops. It makes your teeth shine. YOUR TEETH WILL LOOK GREAT!!!!
Reply:You need to see dentist for a proper consultation and they will advise. But if implants are anything along the lines of cosmetic dentistry, then you would be looking at spending AT LEAST a couple of hundred pounds per tooth plus the prep work before hand so all in all a good few thousand
Reply:Yeah have had a couple done myself after I had to have a couple of teeth extracted

You need to have existing teeth pulled ie removed, then wait 6 months for your gums to heal over

They basically screw a new tooth into your mouth. Sounds gross but is much more long term and a better look than capping.

Loads of downsides tho - 6 months without teeth (have them done in stages), they cost around £1200 each tooth, the NHS wont contribute and not many dentists do them, its very specialised
Reply:Consult a dentist who will let you know of available treaments and cost.
Reply:FYI, if you could not take care of your real teeth, chances are that your implants will fail. They still require as much, if not more attention than your real teeth do. If you are going to spend that much money, I would hope you take care of them. PLUS- here in America, its about $2000 per implant...this is not including the crown that your general dentist will fabricate which is about $7-800 dollars. You have 28 teeth in your mouth, so this will be REALLY expensive. This is not including the extractions of existing teeth, reshaping of the ridge (aveloplasty), and possible bone grafts which are more common than not with multiple extractions. Another alternative is to remove the existing teeth and place 4 implants where your 'I' teeth are ( your cainine, vampire teeth). You can have full upper and lower dentures that snap into these implants and keep them in place. I hope this helps you.

What did it cost for the permanent teeth to be manufactured and installed after implants for the upper set?

I am about to undergo surgery to remove my upper teeth and have implants installed. I was wondering if anyone knows what the cost for the permanant teeth that will attach to the implant once the healing is completed have cost. Is it the same as a regular crown or is it less costly?

What did it cost for the permanent teeth to be manufactured and installed after implants for the upper set?
Actually the crowns that are placed on top of your implants are usually a little more expensive due to the fact that they are made of more material than regular crowns. If I were you I would def. find out how much they are going to cost before you have all of your perm. maxillary teeth removed. You may have what is called an overdenture placed on top of your implants. You need to give more information, like how many implants are you going to have placed? Will you have individual crowns placed, or an over denture?
Reply:hi, if they 'll remove all your upper teeth , 4 implants or mini

implants ,then overdenture

the impants each around 2- 3000$

the overdenture around 1500$

good luck

Reply:My experience has been, it is exactly the same. I was just invoiced $ 2, 400.00, for two teeth, or two crowns. Once the implants are in, the procedure is essentially the same as any other crown.

I Would like to know which one is better Partial dentures or teeth implants?

Implants...if you want them to feel more realistic and more functional. I wish I would have gone that route.

I Would like to know which one is better Partial dentures or teeth implants?
Implants, obviously. Once completed, they look and feel just like real teeth and you never notice the difference, have good chewing power, etc. Partials hook to other teeth so that these fake teeth can be held down and do not offer that great of chewing power, it is more for looks.
Reply:Partial dentures are a real pain because it takes several adjustments to make them fit right. Then you have to take them out and clean them, leave them out at night so they don't irritate your gums, and pieces of them can break off and have to be replaced...and so on. On the other hand, implants scare me to death and I am a dental hygienist. They have come a long way and are much better now than they used to be but it is still a long drawn out process to have even one implant done...not to mention the expense. After the tooth is removed, you have to wait about 3 months to let the bone fill back in, then go to a gum specialist (periodontist) who will place the implant post, or screw, into the bone. It will remain covered by gum tissue for a few more months, then you will go back to the periodontist for him to uncover the post, and then on to your regular dentist who will make the crown, or cap, for the implant, which will screw onto the part of the implant that is sticking up out of the gum. Sounds painful and too long of a process. So what about a fixed bridge instead of partials or implants? Of course in order to do this, you must have at least one tooth on either side of the empty spot, but I am assuming you do or a partial probably wouldn't work either. Talk to your dentist about having a bridge done unless you are already dead set on implants or a partial. Just thought I would throw another option at you that is kind of a compromise between partial and implant.
Reply:Dental hygienist here. Implants are as close to your natural teeth as you can get. They can be pricey, and require some time depending on how quickly they are loaded. Sometimes you need a bone graft (where the oral surgeon/periodontist places material in the implant site to bulk up support). The graft and/or implants take time to integrate into your jaw-think of it as healing time. Then your dentist will place a crown on top of the implant. So you will have 2 costs--implant and crown. From then on, you treat them like your normal teeth. Brush, floss, bite, chew and speak like you normally would. Partials will fill the space where you have missing teeth but will need to be removed and cleaned regularly. Depending on where the missing teeth are, the metal arms that keep the partial in your mouth may be visible. A partial that fits on the lower teeth is usually more difficult to get used to than one on the top---that makes sense, though, considering your tongue is on the bottom. I have patients with partials and patients with implants. The implants are definitely more expensive, but look amazing. If you can afford it, I would go the implant route. Best of luck, and don't forget to floss!!

Reply:Implants are $5000 - $6000 each and crowns about $1200. Pretty pricey.

What are the pro's & con's of having molar teeth implants?

I dont really know any cons. The pros would be that you are restoring proper chewing in your mouth. Every tooth in the mouth is made for a certain purpose. The molar teeth are the teeth that carry the most weight in the mouth. When one is removed, the other teeth have to carry the load for that tooth. The more molar teeth a person removes, the more load the smaller teeth are expected to carry, which ends up causing problems for them.

What are the pro's %26amp; con's of having molar teeth implants?
The pro of having implants is you can repair your teeth without affecting the ones adjacent to the gap. Once you have a tooth removed, you need to replace it with either a bridge or implant within six months of extraction. Otherwise, the adjacent teeth will begin to shift, and the bone where the roots were anchored will begin to soften and decay. A bridge involves crowning the adjacent teeth to support the pontic (the false tooth), which may put undue stress on them and ultimately damage them.

The con is cost. Insurance does not cover implants whatsoever, unlike with bridges. For implants, you have to pay your oral surgeon the few thousand dollars for the base he screws into your jaw, then go to your regular dentist and purchase the crown separately. Your jaw also may not be suitable for an implant. I was considering having one on one of my upper molars, but my maxilla is two thin. I would have had to pay an extra couple thousand dollars to have a bone graft.

My cat had all his teeth extracted by the vet today. Is there a company or vet that does tooth implants 4 cats?

No, never feed canned food to a pet that has just had its teeth extracted. The soft food will get into the pockets and stay in there and cause an infection. Always feed hard food.

As far as implants are concerned, I've never heard of a thing like that before, its not necessary medically.

I have an elderly patient who is in his late eighties and he had implants, they cost about $16,000, but they look great.
Reply:How Much Do Implants Cost?

There is no set answer to this question. The general answer is quite a bit compared to most other dental procedures.

Each fixture can cost $800 to $2,500. Each crown, $600 to $1,500. While the total cost for a single-tooth implant ($1,500 to $4,000) isn't much more than that for a small fixed bridge, costs quickly rise from there. A full upper or lower jaw can cost as much as $18,000 to $30,000. That's 10 to 15 times as much as a full denture. 2

Cost will depend on the particular dentist, number of teeth involved, location of involved teeth as well as any additional work the dentist must do. For example, persons requiring bone grafting or other special procedures would incur more expense.

Dentures and bridges have a lot going for them. You can get them fitted in a matter of weeks, the bill won't exceed a few thousand dollars and dental insurance usually will pay part of the cost. 2 But they do have their drawbacks:

Removable dentures can be hard to eat with because they provide only a fraction of the chewing force of natural teeth.

A full lower denture can be dislodged by jaw and tongue movement.

Ill-fitting dentures can be irritating and painful with hard plastic riding atop a thin layer of gum tissue over bone.

Partial dentures, which replace a few missing teeth, can also promote tooth decay around their clasps and, by mechanical action, weaken the surrounding teeth.

For people missing just one or a few teeth, a fixed bridge looks and feels more like the real thing and provides near-normal chewing force. It's cemented in place over the natural teeth on each side of the gap. But those end teeth first must be ground to stubs, to accommodate caps. Bridges can also weaken other teeth: A fixed bridge that spans too wide a gap can loosen the teeth it's cemented to.

I hope this helps! I wish you the best!
