I am considering having some tooth implants, but I react to certain metals in regards to wearing jewlery. I am wondering if this might cause a negative reaction to the implants.
Has anyone had a negative experience with tooth implants? If yes, what problems occured?
Mine went very well. I had so many problems with my root canal, I was relieved to have my implant go so well.
It has been 4 years.
The post is made of titanium. I have severe metal allergies to nickel jewelry (itchy bumps and swollen earlobes), so I was very worried about the implant, but it has been all good so far.
It also does not set off any metal detectors at the airport --- which was another worry of mine!
Hope this helps.
Reply:implants are made of titanium they are extremely biocompatible, you shouldn't have a problem. The problem from earings etc is likely due to a nickel allergy
